Hi, I’m Brett. I’ve been passionate about fitness for over 14 years and have been competing for more than a decade. If you had told me back when I started that I’d one day have an entire website dedicated to my personal training and massage work, I wouldn’t have believed it. But here I am, doing what I love and helping others unlock their potential.
What excites me the most about this journey is discovering just how incredible the human body is. It’s fascinating to see what athletes can achieve and how proper nutrition and bodywork can transform both performance and recovery.
How It All Started
My fitness journey began in high school around my sophomore or junior year. I had extra free time after school, so I started with basic exercises like push-ups and sit-ups. Then, I discovered the gym in our housing community—a place equipped with dumbbells, barbells, cable machines, and more. From that point on, I was hooked.
By the time I was 17, I got my first job and began buying my own “bodybuilding food” to fuel my workouts. A moment that stands out in my early journey was when my grandmother told me how proud she was of the progress I was making. Her words meant everything to me, especially since I was lifting purely for myself. Her encouragement became even more meaningful after she passed away.
Entering the Fitness Industry
One day, while grocery shopping, I noticed an ad for Gold’s Gym on a cart and thought, “That’s where the serious lifters go.” Soon after, I got a membership and even started working at the front desk. It was there that I met my first coach, Mike Cambra, in the fall of 2012. Mike introduced me to my first bodybuilding show, and by 2013, I had won Mr. Teen California at just 19 years old.
Over the next seven years, I worked with Mike, learned from other incredible coaches, and connected with professional athletes in the fitness industry.
A Passion for Bodywork
Around 2014, I started getting regular massages to improve recovery and performance. Each time, I sought out better therapists, but I realized I wanted to do more than just offer temporary relief. I wanted to truly help people move, feel, and perform better.
In 2015, I visited several massage schools but couldn’t find time to attend while working full-time. I thought the dream was out of reach, but the idea never left me.
Competitive Success and New Beginnings
Fast forward to 2021: I won the NPC Muscle Contest Mr. California as a super heavyweight (225.25 lbs+). That same year, I competed in my first national show, the 2021 USAs, but the results were far from what I’d hoped. Determined to improve, I began working with coach Justin Compton in fall 2022. Together, we won the NPC Muscle Contest Excaliburlater that year.
Now, as I continue to work with Justin, I’m preparing for the next big challenge: competing at the USAs.
Looking Ahead
My journey in fitness and bodywork has taught me resilience, the importance of constant learning, and the power of helping others. Whether it’s through personalized training programs or hands-on bodywork sessions, my mission is to help others push past their limits and achieve their best selves.
Thank you for being part of my journey—I’m excited to see where it takes me next!
